How do I explain this situation? My 'friend' of three years is a major alcholic -- who when is not intoxicated tells me how much he loves me and respects me. When he is trashed (more often than not) he may also say those things but he is also very cold, shuts down, does crazy things. I have told him not to come around me when he is using because I am unable to handle the emotional roller coaster -- now I haven't heard from him in over a week - he doesn't answer his phone and won't return calls. He tends to do this when he is in la-la land. I got really frustrated and left him a message telling him it was over between us -- But the thing is -- he has my dog. What should I do?

Go get it! You know where he lives, right? If you've been "friends" for 3 years, you should know some of his family or close friends. Bring one of them with you to get you into his house and then take your dog and run!! Good luck and good for you on leaving his drunk a**.

First rule of thumb do not make final decisions or "threats " unless you are prepared to give up property or other personal things you haven't retrieved from the other person second why in the world would you want to be with some1 that doesnt respect themself enough, let alone you to be a better person you deserve all the love and respect in the world and if you think thats as good as it gets the problem isn't him.......Hope you get your dog though!!
