I am looking for work and want to put down my daycare experence however i can't figure out how to state it. I was fired because a parent falsly accused me of spanking a little girl the policy at the day care was to let go of any worker with these issues if it did or did not happen.

Unless you only worked there for a couple of months, I think you need to list the job. Otherwise, there will be a large block of time that you will need to explain anyway.

- Most employers don't contact your previous employers anyway, unless there is a specific reason for them to do so.

- If they do call, all your previous employer can say is "yes" you worked there and the dates you worked there. Unless you put them down as a recommendation they cannot say more.

- On your resume, just put the dates you worked there and leave it at that.

If they specifically ask you why you left, be honest and try to spin it. "A mother accused me of hitting her child. I had not hit her child, but the nothing I or anyone else could say would convince her of the truth. My manager and I discussed the issue and we decided it would be best if I left. I was unhappy to leave the job, I liked the job very much, but I know that if I had stayed things would have been very difficult." This sounds much better than "I was fired".

Did you do it? If you didn't and your employer knows you didn't do it, but had to let you go because of the policy- Are you on good terms with your employer? If you are then put on your resume your experience and if you go for a job interview and they ask you why you left your last job then explain to them that you were let go for a misunderstanding. You don't have to go into detail. If you did hit the child, then you either should find a new career path because no daycare center is going to want a person who has hit a child. It seems like it was a misunderstanding and if it was then you shouldn't have any real problem getting a new job.

Are you planning to apply for other day care jobs?
If so, put down your experience of working there and dont elaborate as to why you left. If they call the former employer, that's the chance you take.

I wouldn't put down on my resume information regarding quit/fired etc. Just the place of employment- physical address-supervisor name & number-job title held- duites required-length of time employed is optional.

First off you never and I mean never state anything on your resume that can be see as a negtive period. This is one area where only the postive things should be noted.
