Orang beraja, orang beradat. It's our culture, our history.

I agree, in history the royalties played more important roles in people's lives - they were warriors, they helped spread Islam, etc. These days most of them just take advantage of the privileges that are considered as their birth right (I'm referring mainly to the younger generation here). But at the same time I do know members of royal families who have contributed to our Malaysian economy & govt.

Royal Families have no relevance to any countries, but especially in the Developing world they they are probably a negative influence on democracy
