DALLAS (AP) -- Flamboyant Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens attempted suicide by overdosing on pain medication, even putting two more pills into his mouth after fire rescue personnel arrived.
A Dallas police report released Wednesday morning said Owens told rescue workers "that he was depressed." The report was first released by WFAA-TV.
The rescue worker "noticed that (his) prescription pain medication was empty and observed (Owens) putting two pills in his mouth," the police report said.
The worker attempted to pry them out with her fingers, then was told by Owens that before this incident he'd taken only five of the 40 pain pills in the bottle he'd emptied. The worker then asked Owens "if he was attempting to harm himself, at which time (he) stated, `Yes."'

I had not heard about this. I read the article on the link that someone put in their answer above. It is sad. I am a huge Dallas fan, but was not that impressed with Terrell Owens. He should not be dropped from the Cowboys because that would not help his mental state right now. I think because he has not performed like he thought he would with the Cowboys and he knows he is still being talked about, that it all contributed to his depression. It happens. Don't judge him unless you have walked in his shoes.

I don't know if this is true or a ploy, but maybe if it's true his life is going downhill because he's a narcisistic, egotistical, big mouthed, sore loser (and sore winner) and he made his own bed. The antics that he pulled here in Philly were ridiculous and I'm surprised that any team would want to take a chance on him regardless of his talent because he's not a team player in any way shape or form. It's always all about him. Maybe it was because his wittle finger hurt so bad! Puuuuhlease.

Oh, you whiny bleeding hearts: "Oh, he need help," "Oh, too bad, he's such a GREAT player," "Oh, boo hoo, he was treated so bad..."
Listen up you losers! This guy is nothing but a self-centered, nasty, ego-frantic, one man wrecking crew, everywhere he has ever been, his whole life! The "help" he needs is a swift and brutal boot right up the old backside!
I for one, think its simply great news and I've been predicting something like this since he went to Dallas. This is the BEST NEWS the Dallas Cowboys have had since the signing of Bill Parcells.
If you want to waste your sympathy on somebody, do it for the victems of shi*t-heads like Terrel Owens, Mike Tyson and Randy Moss, don't waste it on the likes of THEM!

No one likes that horses a** because of how he treats people...especially his teamates and coaches. I couldn't care less what happens to him. He has an awsome life, and he needs to get a dose of reality. Maybe he should try living like the rest of the world, then he might think differently. Did it happen to say if he called the squad or did someone else? If he really wanted to commit suicide, he would.

If he did mean to harm himself then dropping him from the cowboys is certainly not the answer.
Getting him proffessional help is. It's times like this where the employer (cowboys) have a reponsibility and duty of care for their employees.

Why should the Cowboys drop him. For one he has a contract. When your on a team, you would try to help your teammate. You wouldnt just get rid of him. His life is better than mine probably, but who gives a ****. People commit or try to commit suicide everyday.
