The best notebook web-cam is not the cheapest thing to buy. The thing to look for is how fast you want the people on the other side to see you move. That's how many ppm (pixels per minute) and the how big the optical zoom is a factor too. The camera usually runs around $65 to $100.

All of Logitech products are high quality. You can't go wrong with any one you choose to purchase. Base your purchase on what you can afford. Some of the best webcams are more expensive of course, than a lessor selection. However, anyone you buy is going to work very well. Just be sure to install the software before you attach the webcam. This way the drivers are properly set in your system and will communicate between the computer and the webcam the proper way. If you install the hardware first you will experience problems.

The bottom line is how much webcam you can afford. The more you spend the more features and choices you have. Regardless of which one you choose, you are getting a solid piece of hardware which will work very well for you. I like Logitech and Belkin products the most.
