Yes it is bizarre; however we all have quirky hobbies .

I have my old toys I played with when I was 5 - 6 (I'm in my 40's now). I still look for newer replacements for the ones I had (keeping both the old one and the new one together).

Enjoy your hobby but don’t get carried away (no one needs 10 copies of “The Pokey Little Puppy”).

Childhood is when you read some of the best books ever. Trying to recreate that is not quirky or bazarre, it is natural.

Why don't you trying sharing one with your wife. While you'll both have a slightly different experience, perhaps she'll learn to enjoy it

You seem like a person who likes to enjoy himself--so whatever makes you happy. Just don't get caught. ;-)
