Ummmm yes.

Does the phrase "In sickness or in health" ring a bell?

I think if you had an affair on your husband you would only be hurting yourself. When you got married you said "for better or for worse", not if he get emphsema that gives me a right to be unfaithful. You really need to think about this long and hard, is this really something you want to risk. Are you prepared to live on your own and financial support yourself? If so, before you make any decision, because 99 % of the time they find out and will boot you to the curb, then what will you do? Move in with your lover? He won't want you anymore, because he will think if she will cheat on him she will cheat on me if something happens to me. Start counseling, maybe divorce is the best answer in this situation, maybe not. But think before you do anyhting drastic...

It is hurting someone you. You for doing it if you do, and what kind of person would have an affair. Sure it can not hurt him if he does not know oh but some way he will. What goes around comes right back around One with no morals or standards could only say such a thing. I always tell people when they want to have an affair, you are married under God and he knows. You will pay some way if you do. On top of that your husband has emphysema and you could at least have some other way of thinking of him. Talk to him and tell him and if you are to unhappy leave. If you don't want to leave then why have an affair.

But wouldn't an affair hurt your husband? Personally I think having an affair is totally wrong, no matter what the situation.

Just the fact that you had to ask the question, tells me that you already know it's wrong. If you love your husband, tell him that you are missing the love and affection that has dwindled. You might be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. He might not even realize it with all his medical problems weighing heavily on both of you.
If it doesn't change anything, and you really love him, counseling is the next best step.
Good luck and blessed be.

You have made a life-time commitment to your husband. You have made a commitment to be by his side in sickness and in health. Perhaps if the shoe were on the other foot, would you want your husband to entertain the thought of adultery just because you are sick? How would that feel? I think this is sort of selfish on your part.

You're married so it's wrong to have an affair. And it does hurt people involved - it hurts your husband. You want to fool around, get a divorce.

sounds like to me that you don't love your husband anymore, when you married him your marriage license became a legal & binding contract. it is so very wrong to have an affair & your husband will be the one that would get hurt because he is involved & he married you because he loves you with all his heart & if you go through with having an affair, he could very well divorce you because of the betrail.

Of course it is wrong! Your husband is ill. You took vows to stand by him in sickness and in health. How would you like it if you were the one who was ill and he wanted to cheat on you?

yes, it's wrong. It would hurt your husband and in turn be hurting yourself in the long run.
