Perception is a funny thing. A job, is a job. I have worked at fast food places before, I have worked with temporary agencies. Well with temp agencies it 's not always easier or better. No one really wants to work at a fast food place so you can get a job there fairly quick. All fast food places don't pay only minimum wage. I worked at a subway about TEN years ago and was being paid 7.50 an hour. My cousin works at McDonalds now and makes 9.75 and hour with benefits. Working with a temp agency can be more of a downfall when looking for career type employment. Because you are not consistent. You could get experience at hundreds different jobs, but most employers don't even consider it experience if you've worked there for less then 6 months. Plus it takes longer to find something with temp agencies, even if you have a lot of experience in a certain field. At least if you work at that fast food joint you have a stable work history and not bouncing from place to place.

Maybe people choose to work at a fast food restaurant because they don't have the skills to work for the type of job placements that the temp agencies offer, 95% of the temp agencies find job seekers, positions in an office type of enviornment and you would be surprised at how many people don't have basic computer skills. Also alot of people don't like the whole idea of being just a "temp" regardless of how short period of time it may be, there are alot of cons, such as 1. you don't get paid if you need to take a day off 2. you don't have any medical/dental benefits 3. you don't get any real vacation time, sick days or personal days ect. So maybe these could be some of the reasons a person picks a fast food job over a temp job, I don't think anyone would want to wear a lame greasy uniform that smells like fast food all the time, as their first choice for a career goal, but its still honest work and sometimes people have to do what they have to do.

I would like to know the same thing! People can get such better jobs, even teens! I really think that we should shut down some of these fast food restaurants, it's not helping our countries health and its not making anybody any richer, except the fast food companies..which goes back to making MORE fast food..its just a big loop. I think one of the major reasons that people work there is, either they are TOO young to get a 'real' (better paying) job or they just don't care and don't believe enough in themselves to get a good job.

Somebody needs to service the public in the fast food industry.Furthermore it is all in what you make of it. There is room for advancement in fast food industry managing your own store a district of stores the pay is far better than jumping from agency job to agency job.The seeds and works you plant will determine your harvest don't knock a person with a job.It might not be your choice but that's why we have choices

Do you really think that the people that work most fast food places would fare well in an office envirnment? Look at there manners, work ethic, dress and most of the time customer service skills. If you can't figure out I said "no pickles" what makes you think they can cut it in a proffesional environment?

Because people sometimes don't know about that, or they're afraid of trying and failing. Sometimes people just like their job, regardless of how much it pays. :)
