Since I was 13 I'd get sick when my period came on. I mean vomiting, hot and cold flashes, severe cramps and abdominal pain (usually stronger on one side), and heavy bleeding. I'd say about 13 times out of the year this would happen (yes i have irregular periods). I first had sex at 17, so i doubt it was an std issue.
Last month, I was so fusturated with dealing with the pain, so i went to the ER, was diagnosed with PID, and was prescribed metronidazole and doxycycline. (I have'nt been to any doctor since) Now that it's here it's not as bad as b4. But I was wondering if it went untreated for 7 years (i'm 20) what's the worst that could happen since PID can cause infertility and damage to my reproductive organs?

You already know the worst case scenario, infertility and damage to your reproductive organs due to the growth of scar tissue. Good luck, this is very important that you posted this question, i don't think that many females understand or realize that they can have a STD and have no symptoms, or have symptoms that do not necessary make them seek a physician. And left untreated can cause serious harm to reproductive organs. So, ladies if you are sexually active, yes even with one person you should be regularly screened at your local clinic or doctor. People are not always honest. Be safe. Take care of yourself, your future and the children you may want to have in the future are at stake.

I think you've already named the worst case scenario. Infertility and damage to organs. That won't necessarily happen, but it could. That is the worst case scenario that could result in extreme cases in hysterectomy, but I think that's rare with PID. My mother was an OR director, and she described a case of PID surgery she was involved in with a 17 year old. When they opened her up, her entire reproductive tract was oozing green puss. It was unknown whether she would be fertile or not at that time, but even that case didn't result in a hysterectomy. But you did ask about the "worst" case scenario. Best of luck to you for a full recovery!

Everyone says infertility and damage to ur organs. PID can also cause cancer. Having PID greatly increases ur risk of things like cervical cancer. U need to have a pap smear done regularly to check.

I strongly suggest going to see a doctor. We couldn't give you anything useful in person, let alone over the internet. You should really go see a doctor, even if you're afraid of the answer.

You need to seriously go to your gynecologist and get a very thorough exam. Damage may have already occurred to your reproductive organs.

you need to get your doctor to do a thorough check to see how much damage is already done. Since you are young- chances are good that there is not significant damage BUT you do need a medical professional to tell you how much damage and how to prevent any more.
