Ben Folds - The Luckiest - It's the Best Love Song of all time
I don't get many things
right the first time
in fact, I am told that a lot
now I know all the wrong turns —
the stumbles and falls brought me here
and where was I before the day
that I first saw your lovely face
now I see it everyday
and I know
that I am, I am
I am the luckiest
what if I'd been born
fifty years before you
in a house
on the street where you lived
maybe I'd be outside
as you passed on your bike,
would I know?
and in a wide sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
and I know
that I am, I am
I am the luckiest
I love you more than I have
ever found a way to say to you
next door there's an old man
who lived into his nineties
and one day passed away in his sleep
and his wife, she stayed
for a couple of days and passed away
I'm sorry I know that's a
strange way to tell you
that I know we belong
that I know
that I am, I am
I am the luckiest

Artist: Garth Brooks Lyrics
Song: The River Lyrics
You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
It has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance that tide
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
With the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all
And I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Lord, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Hmm...thats a tough one.If you asked me this question a month ago I would have told you a totally different song from the one I'm going to tell you now.I recently heard Christina Aguileras song called "Hurt"and it truly truly touched my heart.I dont know who she wrote it for[if anyone]but it's gotta be about soemone who has passed away judging by the lyrics.I recently lost a brother so when I saw the words and heard the song and with Christinas beautiful voice,I broke down into pieces....here are the lyrics so you can see what Im talking about:
Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away
If only I knew what I know today
I would hold you in my arms
I would take the pain away
Thank you for all you've done
Forgive all your mistakes
There's nothing I wouldn't do
To hear your voice again
Sometimes I want to call you but I know you won't be there
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself by hurting you
Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit
Sometimes I just want to hide 'cause it's you I miss
You know it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this
Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?
There's nothing I wouldn't to do
To have just one more chance
To look into your eyes and see you looking back
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
If I had just one more day, I would tell you how much that
I've missed you since you've been away
Oh, it's dangerous
It's so out of line to try to turn back time
I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do
And I've hurt myself
By hurting you

The Beautiful Ones - Prince. From the Purple Rain soundtrack. I thought what it symbolized in the story was terrific. Prince was pouring his heart out in a room full of strangers to a woman on a date with his rival. Just really HEAR the lyrics, and you'll understand.

Monster, seppenwolf!
Our cities have turned into jungles
And corruption is stranglin' the land
The police force is watching the people
And the people just can't understand
We don't know how to mind our own business
'Cause the whole worlds got to be just like us
Now we are fighting a war over there
No matter who's the winner
We can't pay the cost
'Cause there's a monster on the loose
It's got our heads into a noose
And it just sits there watching

I Will Never Be The Same by Melissa Etheridge on her Yes I Am cd. The entire song reminds me of my first love. The lyric I find most moving is "caught in you eyes, lost in your name, I will never be the same". That is exactly how I felt about him.
"I Will Never Be The Same" by Melissa Etheridge
So you walked with me for a while
Bared your naked soul
And you told me of your plan
How you would never let them know
In the morning of the night
You cried a long lost child
And I tried on I tried to hold you
But you were young
And you were wild
But I, I will never be the same
Oh I, I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same
Secrets of your life
I never wanted for myself
But you guarded them like a lie
Placed up on the highest shelf
In the morning of the night
When I woke to find you gone
I knew your distant devil
Must be draggin' you along
But I, I will never be the same
Oh I, I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same
And you swore that you were bound for glory
And for wanting you had no shame
But I loved you
And then I lost you
And I will never be the same
But I, I will never be the same
Oh I, I will never be the same
Caught in your eyes
Lost in your name
I will never be the same

I'm a sucker for love songs. I can find pieces of how I feel in most of the heart felt ones. It's nice to hear someone else put into words the love I feel.

I love, love, love, Emiliana Torrini's Sunnyroad. (She's the girl who sang Smeagol's Song at the end of The Two Towers.) A sampling is:
Brought you this
I hope you got it safe
It's been so long
I don't know what to say
I've travelled 'round
Through deserts on my horse
Put jokes aside
I wanna come back home
You know at night
I said i had to go
You said you'd meet me
On the sunny road
it's time, meet me on the sunny road
it's time, meet me on the sunny road
I never married
Never had those kids
I loved too many
Now heaven's closed its gates.
I know I'm bad
To jump on you like this
Some things don't change
My middle name's still 'Risk'
I know that night
So long long time ago
Will you still meet me
On the sunny road
It's time, meet me on the sunny road
It's time, meet me on the sunny road
Well, this is it
I'm running out of space
Here is my address
And number just in case.
This time as one
We'll find which way to go
Now come and meet me
On the sunny road

3Doors Down.. Here without you
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams
And tonight it’s only you and me
Lenny Kravitz.. Again
I've searched through time
I've always known
That you were there upon your throne
A lonely queen without her king
I've longed for you my love forever
All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
