New crisps are taking the 'less is more' stance it seems, the reason.......putting 'air' in the bag to keep them fresh. Personally I'd prefer a few more crisps, broken or not, than a huge bag containing about 3 damn crisps and air I shouldn't have to pay for!! What do you think?

I totally agree with you. Especially the big name brands, it won't be long and we'll open a bag to find one lonely crisp.

I would agree with that the amount of crisps you get in a packet is not worth what your paying for. I am sure that when I was younger you got more in a packet than you do nowadays.
I have bought crisps only to find there are a few crisps in the bag should take them back really but it hardly seems worth it.
Walkers used to give you loads but over the years it is definitely getting less.
Yes we are being conned big time.

I think the air in the bag helps to stop the crisps from all breaking when they're piled into boxes, but it should still weigh what it claims to weigh.

You're not paying for the air. When they sell u this stuff, it's based on the weight of the product (ounces). Not the volume.
So whether they put the air in or not, they will charge u the same for it. Personally, I prefer the air; it's so they don't break. I don't think it's for the freshness. Preservatives are for that.

Surely more air in the bag means they will go stale quicker, and are crisps not sold by weight not puffed out bag size

Yes I agree with you , large bag make you think your getting loads of crisps and full of air.

I totally agree we are getting ripped off after all these are just potatoes and there are plenty around.
I say put loads more Crisps in the packet and stuff the air because you cant eat that.

dont they sell the crisps by weight.
If so it wouldnt matter how much air was in the bag the amount of crisps would be the same.
