OK, so none of you have heard me sing. I sang solos in high school, was in a Jazz quartet in college, sang in a Southern gospel group after that, am in the church choir, and have sang in numerous weddings and funerals. I love to sing, and realize I have a good voice, but I know I'd never make it on American Idol (for one, I'm too old - 35). My husband says I should really do something more with my talent, but I'm afraid he's biased - although he doesn't tend to be that way with anything else. How would I even go about breaking into the business? My genre would probably either be gospel or possibly country. Any suggestions?

People will always do the things they love and it is obvious that you love to sing. Great fame is most likely out your reach but there are many ways you can become a successful singer. Pick up a local trade paper, not the newspaper, the one that comes out like once a week or by monthly and features all the clubs and other entertainment venues. Somewhere in there is a classified section where there are want ads for musicians and singers. Make some calls, go to some auditions, sing some music. Make sure that you have charts for the musicians in order for them to play the songs you want to sing. You should have charts for all your repertoire. When you find the right band or assemble your own you can put together a demo and take some photos. The Yellow Pages will have some listings for talent agencies that can get you gigs. Voila! Your on your way.

Why do you want to get into the professional music business? You can have lots of opportunities to sing without going having to be in the business. If you're doubting whether you want to be a professonial singer, then I'd say don't be. It takes A LOT of hard work, rejection, time away from home and family, and many other sacrifices, all for a very slim shot at "making it." If you don't really, really want it bad then I'd advise you not to go down that road.

If I were you I would just look for more opportunities locally. Maybe join another choir, maybe even join a little country band that plays local gigs. Just start singing more and enjoy yourself. Music is beautiful and joyful and freeing. The music business is just cruel.

It's very possible to learn to sing well. You just need to know the right methods. Learn here https://bitly.im/aL9o4

Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.

Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

i imagine it relies upon on the fashion of song you may opt to sing. My merely adventure is with nicely-known song - so right here is going... you could opt to attend a "repute" form song college - contained in the united kingdom one of those company is LIPA. skills on its own isn't each and every thing - at least, you want an Agent. opt for your Agent(s) very heavily to envision they have proper contacts - it truly is, they could acquire proper engagements (gigs) and they don't take too a lot fee. The better nicely prevalent the Agent, the better effective. relying on how your making a song occupation progresses you could opt to employ a manager. be certain any settlement you consider entering into is straightforward and legally sound. reliable success!
