Is anyone here from the coastal area of GA or do you know a lot about it? Is it developing like crazy - new subdivisions everywhere, traffic getting worse, etc.? I'd love to find a town down there where that's not happening!

The six counties of Georgia on the coast are not growing all that fast. So, they don't appear to be "developing like crazy".

2000 thru 2005 growth:
Coastal counties: +14,050 (3.2%)
State of Georgia (not including coastal counties): +872,073 (11.3%)

As you can see, the coastal counties are growing much slower than the rest of Georgia. In fact, 3.5 times slower.

Sandy, over 80% of Americans live within 3 miles of a coastline?!? Where do you get such information? In Georgia, only 5% of the population live in the six coastal counties. Even in the six coastal counties, most of those people live farther away than 3 miles from the coast.

Don't bother trying. It's happening all along the southeastern coast. I live on the SC coast and it's growing at a ridiculous pace. Things started picking up in the mid to late 90's and haven't stopped. I wouldn't begin to think about moving, but I hope things slow down a little.

over 80% of Americans live within 3 miles of a Coastline. If you are young, buy land now, if you live to be 50, you can sell the land and make alot of money.
There is no more land being made, but the population of the humans grows exponentially. As long as Capatlist Civilizations can endure, land will be at a premium.

I live in rural North Florida and We are experiencing a boom also. It is everywhere. People buying up land and building gated communities. I think it is sad. They need to go and tear down those old buildings that are abandoned and build more buildings there not take what little land we have left and waste it.
