Backflip is from a standing start, frontflip with short runup. Note, NOT a handspring, but a front/back flip.

Front flip is more difficult if you have to land and stand properly.

However, a back flip requires a quicker agility and better body control, but more dangerous though.

But personally, I say the FRONT FLIP is far easier than a black flip.

A frontflip is easier as it is easier to project yourself.
With a backflip, it is harder to pull yourself round. Make sure you have coaching to do a backflip as you can damage you neck and back, and even if you just pull a muscle it still hurts as they are the everyday muscles.

Based on the spine's flexibility, I would say that a front flip is easier because the spine is designed to curve more forwards than backwards.

Being an ex-gymnast
A back tuck is easier,
Front tuck you don't know where your landing and its easy to over flip or under flip.

back tuck is easier to save too.

I've done it all. I know first hand.
