Wow, you are writing my life story. It's fine, don't worry about it. What's most important is that YOU are happy.

I enjoy being alone. do I have a underlying problem? let me see
I don't enjoy going to a restaurant expecting to have a nice quiet meal, only to have some lame parent's little precious children running around ,bumping into the tables, throwing food, and hollering at the top of their lungs. also going to the grocery store to do the weekly shopping, and having these same type children racing shopping carts, running into people, and screaming at the top of their lungs if mommy doesn't get them everything they want. now for the adults, people who buy three candy bars and pay with a credit card, people who wait until all their groceries are bagged and put in their cart and THEN start looking for their money or check book. yeah,I guess "I" have a problem

I use to be that way. I had to find out who I was and then I found out the type of people I wanted to be around. This period happened after I graduated high school. I felt like my life was going in different directions compared to my friends. I became reclusive and didn't socialize with people much, unless I had too. But when I found out who I was and which direction I wanted my life to go, I found people who had the same things in common. Maybe that is what you are going through. You just have to find people on your level and surround yourself with those type of people.

Wow! Well, I am the same, exact way! I don't think there is anything wrong with it. In fact, I think that you are probably comfortable with yourself and actually LIKE yourself, which is a great thing. I know people who can't stang being alone and always have to be with others - and I think it is just because they bore themselves. I love being alone and listening to music, reading, cleaning, etc. because it makes me feel grounded and peaceful.

It is perfectly normal! Most of our great thinkers need and like to be alone. You must be inventive and bright? If you want to be with people, you will be with people. But it is normal. Now.....it might depend on what you do when you are alone too!!! Look into that and see if you think the "whole process" of you being alone is ok!

It takes all kinds of people to keep the world going round. I enjoy company of a few quality friends other then tons of idiots. I am sure the few people you do enjoy are the best kind to be around.

I know how you feel. There are people around me with such differing opinions, and naturally I think mine make more sense. I think most people tend to think their opinions are the best, only thing is, some people push it but others don't.
My ideal getaway would be all by myself, so I agree with you. Just don't make too much of a habit of it.

If thisis abnormal, join the group. I enjoy my lone time with a good book or on the computer. It may be a trait of character, but you do not indicate you are a strict loner.

What is normal anyway? according to webster normal is "conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern". Why would you want to confrom to a standard anyway? We spend half of our life trying to find ourselves and our own individuality and the other half trying to fit in again!
You be who you want to be, if you are happy being alone then dont worry!

theres absolutely nothing wrong with you. i am the exact same way. yes i do go out, but i dont feel comfortable being around people. i dont trust them, and i hate the way people act like their sh*t doesnt stink. i am probably the biggest homebody you'll ever find. i just dont like being around people i dont particularly know and trust. thats just how you are, theres nothing wrong with you. as long as you dont become someone who stays in the house and never leaves, but if you still hang out with other people, but just not for long i think your not too far gone.
