I would think not. The speed of your internet connection depends only on the connection speed, not on the operating system you are using. Although if you are using Windows 98, I've been told you may not be able to access the internet through broadband, only dial up. In which case, your internet access would be slower.

the speed of the net wont really depend on the operating system... it depends on the amount of memory your computer has (Ram's) and the processor speed, but xp has several options n tools like virtual memory , msconfig, system restore etc that are more suited for internet usage.
win xp service pack 2 is better than win 98.

i think it depend on the speed of ur computer and ur internet connection i think it dosent matter which its windows 98 or xp the same

It also depends upon the version of internet exp. being used. But nothing to beat the speed of brain wave. :)
