is she in school? in Australia school goes on holidays 4 times a year... school typically starts late Jan/early Feb and from then runs in four 10-week terms. school holidays usually 1 wk in April, 2 wks in July, 1 wk in October, and 8 wks in December/January. weather in Australia is generally good all year round, but personally I think autumn in Australia (springtime in Northern Hemisphere) is the most pleasant... so maybe try organise for her April holidays.

dunno for sure where south beach is, but you can look it up at http://www.wikipedia.org... if you're lucky maybe it's even on http://www.wikitravel.org ... that should say where the closest airport is. in any case I think you should be able to just fly into Sydney and take a train there.

Depends where it is in NSW - Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane could all be close.... I have never heard of it....
I like spring (now) and think it's the best time to visit.
Summer may be too hot but spring is usually pleasant.

If you are coming from a cold climate then July/August would be a good time to visit, otherwise if you want hot beach weather then go in December.

I think best period of the year is from December, because in the south hemisphere is summer.
