parents are just there for guidance, if they go too far, there could be a problem.

Hun I'm a parent of a 15 year old and an 8 year old, and I can tell you from experience that many of us out there are truly responsible loving caring parents. I stay on mine 24 hours a day. Being a parent is a loving non stop job, you have to be there for them always. That said, yes, I am a drill sargent, I control every aspect of their lives and will until they reach adulthood. So far, I've been very lucky as to no teen pregancy, no drugs or acohol, or anything else. I think its the parents that should set the prime example for the children and take the rose colored glasses off and see their children for what they are, mirrors of themselves. The old saying apples never fall far from the tree is very true, how we are in reality is how are children will be, so if you don't like what your children are showing you, take a hard look at yourself, because you are doing the very same thing. This is just my humble opinion.

Yes these outcries are scapegoats so that parents don't get the blame for it. I mean why the hell would you buy your 10 year old child an 18+ game?! Can't they use their initiative if they bloody have one!
Every time there are new adverts are being banned from the TV because 'its unsuitable for their child to see' well most of the times they aren't if the kid is under 13 are the advert is shown at 11pm why they hell are they still up? Shouldn't they be tucked up in bed ready for school the next day?

Yes, you are right. Parents should be the people most responsible for their offsprings' behaviour. If they themselves don't set examples of good behaviour, their children wouldn't know what is meant by acceptable behaviour. Sadly, as adults, we just aren't very careful with what we watch, how we talk, how we treat people and what we say. All these will have an effect on our children and then when things get out of control, we just blame others for bad influences on our children so we don't have to blame ourselves. It's good to be tolerant but don't you think sometimes we are tolerant to the point where we tolerate misbehaviour, rudeness, inconsideration, selfishness and even evil?

its society's responsibility, and that includes the parents of the children- not the media for the recent events occurring in the news and in various communities. the media is always an easy target: as i mentioned before it is always the butt of criticism for society's ills. for almost every murder, crime or social disobedience taking place, the media is constantly having to defend itself from such claims and in regards to the way children in today's age are behaving. it is always the made the scapegroat when in my personal view that is and has always been misleading and inaccurate.
so my answer to this question is that people use all kinds of excuses in their attempts to substantiate their argument and blame the tv, film and music industry for all the social problems. but these excuses that they come up with are generally, misleading and stereotypical to say the least

I've been one of those shop assistants, and you warn the parents, but the majority don't care..
Expecting society to be nice, neat and innocent for your children is a ridiculous concept. Before the internet, children still spoke to each other, and if one kid knew something horrible then it would spread around. The internet and videonasties and the rest just seem to be scapegoats for parents who don't really know their children.

I think the "parents" of the young generation at the moment were deprived too of how to understand feelings and were not taught properly in school. for example, a kid's dad leaves home, the kid becomes more angry as time goes on. instead of talking about it and expressing his anger in words, he ends up kiling someone instead. all that could av been prevented if children were taught how to deal with their emotions and label them, understand them. there would be fewer babies have babies and less murders, less drug abuse etc. the list goes on.
who taught our parents, no one, we teach ourselfs, how to bring children up is not taught in school, so how would anyone, without good common sense teach their children its ok to be angrey and upset, but its how you express it!?
how many times have you heard someone say, stop being so angrey, ? why? why should they stop being so angrey? maybe they have something to be angry about? its not going to go away, so they need to be taught how to deal with it, otherwise, they will deal withit the only way the see fit to, violence, drugs, etc.
i dont blame parents, i blame government, afterall, it has been around longer than this generation. all the money they put into schools and there are still more underaged pregnancies and stuff. murders, drugs and failures. we need to do more for our future. inspire your children to learn as much as they can.
