Look at your beliefs. There is a law in psychology (written about by Ralph Waldo Emerson and William James) that YOUR THOUGHTS CREATE YOUR REALITY. So the thoughts you habitually entertain become your everyday realities...until they are changed.

If you want to improve your life, examine your beliefs first of all and weed out the ones which are negative.

Make a list of the strongest thoughts and beliefs you have about your life, and then change the negative ones to their positive opposites. See if you can memorise as many of your new beliefs as you can, and then start thinking them whenever you can, especially if you are having a period of negative thinking.

Pick one all-encompassing, general belief (ie " All is glory " or " I love life, I love me " ) and then 'imprint' that belief onto your subconscious mind. Do this for about 500 repetitions a day, for 100 days and you will soon have a very powerful new belief building your experiences. Often, thinking the new belief will become second nature to you, so you will start thinking it automatically and it will create greatt hings for you without you having to try too hard.

That's all you need to do, think positively and imprint a new belief. Your subconscious mind will take care of the rest, as it has the means and powers to actually change your realities for you.

It's not really known how yet, but there is a belief that we all live in a web of energy, so when you start changing your energies, you also begin attracting the people, events, circumstances etc needed to match them. It works for positive and negative energies. This is the power of SYNCHRONICITY. When you build, then 'they' (whatever/whoever is needed) come.

A lot of people will probably write this off as tosh, but I have had the experience myself and it does work.

NEGATIVE EXAMPLE: I was having a bad time a couple of years ago, and my thinking fell by the wayside. I starting thinking and ruminating on all sorts of fears. Result, a number of friends left my life,my circumstances dried up for a while and I ended up getting mugged and beaten up quite badly.

POSITIVE EXAMPLE: I decided my thinking needed to be upgraded, so I started imprinting a new positive belief and ruminating upon my positive qualities. Result, new friends came into my life, my circumstances were greatly enriched and all sorts of opportunities came my way.

OPPORTUNITIES ARISE WHEN YOU OPEN UP YOUR THOUGHTS.

This statement is very true. Often you find that when you start thinking positively, there is a 'spill-over' effect and lots of different areas in your life also start improving. Whats known as your 'sphere of availability' starts to widen. This is where you will start making more and more of your life.

You could also make a list of your positive qualities and read it over once a day. This also send out a kind of 'self-accepting' energy which will attract to you, people who appreciate you.

But once started, KEEP AT IT. As new energies build, you gain momentum, and after a short while you will be able to see changes in your life. The trouble is, most people begin to 'coast' on that momentum after a few weeks, and things start to slow down. Then they wonder why their lives aren't working for them any more.

As a constructive belief gets imprinted deeper and deeper in your mind, the events taking place in your life get more and more positive.

Yes God gave it to us in the form of the 10 Commandments and even if you are not religious you cannot help but see the wisdom in these few "rules". When you follow these rules in life you will simply learn to feel good about who YOU are. It is true you have to make your own choices in life so why not make a very good choice by simply following the 10 Commandments..... Good Luck and God Bless.

Smile everyday - even at strangers in the street. Try and always do nice things for people, no matter how small it is. - sometimes you can turn someone elses day around by a small act of kindness; they in turn will then feel more inclined to be nice to the next person they meet, and so it goes on til the whole world is a happy, fluffy place!

You really should read 'Feeling Good. The New Mood Therapy' by Dr. David Burns. It's extremely enlightening, and is widely recognised as an authorative and approved method of cognitive self-therapy.

It shows how one can recognise distorted thought processes, and what action should be taken to counter them.

An extremely helpful book.

No, there are no "Laws" to follow. Ideals, yes, laws no.

Just be a positive thinker and be friendly. Your life will greatly improve just on that.
