well honestly i think thats great. no sex b4 marriage means no rish of std and no worring every month if u r pregnant(its happening to a friend). unless u r in a commited relationship and its not that u have any one else.
thats what religion says to stay away from sex until u r married,
those who have the strenght to do it i applause them, its not easy with peer presure and sex being showed every where as a marketing tool,
best of luck to u and i applaud u for keeping the control

Abstinence is awesome. It's what God has called us to do until marriage. Ideally it preserves your mind, body, and heart for your spouse. I think of sex is like gluing two peices of wood together. You can't pull them apart without leaving pieces of the other piece of wood behind. Some women try to blow it off like it's casual and it's "no big deal". I think that's just a cop out because they would rather have the sexual attention then no attention or affection at all. They are measuring their self worth based on the wrong kind of attention. The right kind of man will want to spend time with you because you are a beautiful, intelligent, and kind woman... Not because you are having sex. If I could go back and do it all over again I would have waited.

When discussing this topic I think we also need to think about the topic of people who get married so they can have sex "legally" in God's eyes. That is so screwed up and it's a trap many young Christians fall into or are urged into by older family memebers. How do we balance the two? Maybe by dating w/o sex for an extended amount of time (a few years)?

And finally.... The fact is that not everyone is strong enough or has enough self respect and self control to wait. I don't think we can turn a blind eye to this group of young people. We still have a responsibility to educate and impower this group to make wise, safe, and healthy choices.

I was raised to beleive in abstinence and that sex before marriage was a sin so I figured I had to wait till I was married but needless to say after I meet new freinds, started drinking, hanging with the gangsters, and useing drugs abstinence went out the door. Now me and my boyfreind of 3 years live together, have a 9 month old daughter together and are expecting our second child together in Feb. Plus his 3 boys ages 6,4,and3 from his first marriage also live with us. So if you choose abstinence then good for you and if not well then good for you also.

If one listens to what one's neighbors and pastor say, one gets a certain feeling for the topic. If one's a mental health professional, however, one gets quite a different picture. Thirdly, if one helps in a carefully designed and controlled study by a major university, one gets a different picture from the first two. I prefer the third approach, finding that people are more open and honest in such a situation.
And, having participated as a professional in two such studies, I can tell you that we found that the majority of couples don't wait until the wedding night. Only about twelve percent of couples wait, in fact. In another very large, very carefully controlled study by a consortium of universities, including several colleges with a strong religious base, it was found that premarital sex has almost no bearing whatsoever on divorce rates. It also cannot be implicated in future cases of sexual misbehavior such as infidelity or abusive behavior.
Of course, those're answers that much of society does not wish to hear...and it never ceases to amaze me how many folks live along that famous river in Egypt - denial!

abstinence Biggest mistake of your life!

OK men want a wife in the home a whore in the bedroom! Shite sex is the worst kind of sex! great sex only come with experiences. Not saying go out and sleep with 100 lads. But you need to no the difference between Great sex and Shite Sex. 90% of people break up because the real reason is sex is better somewhere else! if you want a long and happy marriage and keep hold of your man! get some experience! he could be the worst shag in the world then your stuck with him!

I think abstinence from all sexual activity till marriage is the best choice. Aside from the concerns of pregnancy and STDs, there are so many emotional, social, financial, and mental consequences that come from sex. I read that two-thirds of teens who had sex regretted their decision. Check out more info like that at this cool website - www.ampartnership.org.

I think if thats what you want to do thats great,This is a personal decision. No one can make it for you.Personally for me I have 3 kids over the age of 21 but i never encouraged abstinence.Am I bad right only because I do believe that as humans we need to sow a few seeds before getting married. But I was when i married young i remained faithful until I divorced him at 28.Then I went crazy like making up for lost time. But seriously what you dont know you dont miss so for me during the marriage cause i didnt know anything different it was just fine.I admire your idea and in the end it is up to you totally.

I can not say I have waited. My fiance and I have had conversations before about if we would have never had sex and would have been each others first. There are so many good reasons for waiting like the risk of disease and God says it is wrong morally. The world itself promotes sex before marriage and teen sex too. What we should consider wrong everyone is pushed to do. I am glad to know there are still people who choose to wait and I respect that 100%.

OK well let me ask you this.lets say you wait till your wedding night. fine that's great then lets say 10 years down the line your husband passes away for whatever reason. will you ever do it again? if you do meet someone else then will you wait for your wedding night again or will the second time be less meaningful!!!!!!!!!!!!
my point is married or not doesn't make it more meaningful.Being with the right person in the right place at the right time is what makes it meaningful.
i am not for people who sleep around or those who have casual sex on first or second date but i think that if you are in a committed relationship and the two of you really care and respect each other it is OK.

if you wait until you get married then you are waiting for the right person. Once a man has sex with you then he loses all respect. he will say thins like "I got it so will someone else'.With all the diseases that there are waiting is one way you can be safe. sex is not all it's cracked up to be especially if it's just about sex and not about bonding two people together for life. I had sex before marriage and trust me the worry about pregnancy disease and feeling used is not worth it. wait if the man loves you he will wait with you
