can I have some recomendations for a MP3 player, what I want is something to learn a language on so i would like something where you can rewind a few seconds of voice rather than a whole track.. hope that makes sense.. sound quality as it is just for voice isn't that important and size about 1gb although that isn't as important as being able to rewind

Thanks for the replies, Yes I am looking to buy one but going to the high street stores to have some assistant that knows nothing about them and is more interested in getting me to buy an extended warranty than buying the product isn't really an option, after all they are only going to show me a few sealed boxes and not let me get any of them out to listen/try them out. that's why I'm here asking for personal recomendations

A good place to start usually is a brand, but this is usually for fashion status or reliability.

If I was you I would look for features more than anything, because you are looking to use it for languages then I would go for a 512MB or 1GB as the prices on memory have come right down lately.

Get one which allows you to BOOKMARK, or Do an A-B REPEAT, this will let you go back and forth with ease if learning a certain phrase.

An Inbuilt speaker would also be a good feature too.

Go for one with a screen so you can see whilst rewinding the time, if you dont get a screen then its all guess work.

Here's a few good examples;

iRiver
Cowon
Creative

I think your asking MP3 player to buy, with so many different makes out ther its hard to to say what one will be right for you, pop into your local comet, currys store and have a look then you would be able to judge better. I had a 2gig Mp3 player which was cool but now I use my phone which has same size space and is much more functional overall.

hi
it is my personal opinion that any mp3 player that has at least 512 MB will do very nicely for learning a language
