It can't do anything right. Can't it just admit it's a piece of crap instead of pretending some file or other doesn't exist?

With a question like that and a decade working with computers I know the answer. The error is simple and actually causes 90% of all computing errors. It exists between the keyboard and the chair. ;) Had you asked about a specific problem you'd probably get a fix for it. Just a suggestion.

Computers can only do what they were programmed to, and as such you shouldn't blame your computer if you're experiencing problems with it - you should blame your operating system, or the company who designed it. Heck, your computer doesn't even know you're blaming it, nor does it even have the emotional capacity to feel ashamed, guilty or inadequate as a result of your anger towards it.

What would be better is to have patience, and try to resolve the problem yourself. Better still, you could describe your problem more specifically on this website, and maybe someone will be able to help you out.

Mine does it too at times! maddening isn't it? Do you think computers have got a mind of their own? I reckon mine does! As for lying to you m'dear! how inconsiderate are people/things these days! I have long come to accept that my computer cannot be trusted if my worse prolem is ... My mirror! It lies to me daily! As i enjoy a good blast of rap music or heavy metal and know and feel i'm a young woman ... It shows lines that seem to give credence to my birth certificate, not my ideas! Now that is!!! really really really the worst!

It's afraid you might not be able to handle the truth which maybe that you don't have your PC configured properly and you need to learn more about it.
Go to Start>Search>All files and folders (type in the file name)>local hard drive>search

It's in there.

Run clean disk, and Defragmentation.

You computer, if using MS Windows of some sort, will always lie to you, that is how it has been programmed.

Try installing Linux - it is the most truthful operating system a computer can have - and it is FREE!

a computer can't lie.. it ALWAYS TELLS THE TRUTH.. but uh good luck on fixing it.. and it would be awesome if computers told you that they are stupid instead of giving you an error

I'm glad to hear you are blaming the machine man made, and that leads to the reality of imperfection in how we tend to set ourselves up for deception.
