HELL NO I asked my current husband to marry me. He is shy and we are a perfect match. But we would of never married if I didn't thrust forward. Society is changing women are no longer willing to stand back and be docile. I am an uppity woman and proud of it

It should have been so a hundred years ago because than the women were shy and it was wrong for a woman to approach a man and ask him such a thing.
But nowadays with women becoming more and more like men in the sense they work and they drive, I don't think it matters

Yes, it is so,
But it does not mean women cannot do it..
If you are close enough as lovers, you can actually ask him point blank,,, during one of those happy moments together you can actually ask so suddenly like: "Hon.. do you intende to marry me in the future or are we just going to be living-in as lovers forever?"
I am sure this will wake him up and out of his senses and if he is really serious about you,, he won't be offended and will take your question as a challenge and as a test of his love for you.
If he will decline, then you need not get unduly hurt in front of him... gather your pride, just be yourself, but be prepared for the breakup in the future,, the sooner you know of his real intentions for you the better for you and your relationship.

society lives in the last century. if a woman can do any thing a man can y cant see be the one to ask him to marry her? well i dnt know abt the rest i know i asked and i am married to him now.
so to hell with society. i think most ppl who apply these rules r hipocrites and most of them do what they like so i think we can do as we like no matter men or women,

Most of us live according to this rules society dictates, but breaking them is up to you. I think it's romantic for a woman to propose.

well i think is the right thing to do , looking at the population cencus of women today, is clear dat we have more of women than of men. its better the men do the asking so as to avoid more women asking a particular guy to marry them. the men being who they are take their time and choose who they think is right for them

Why can't a woman ask? If she wants to marry a guy why should she wait for him to ask? That way she isn't going to wait around for years. Ask him, if he says no then there you go!

yes its a kind of nice tradition but it happens now more often that the woman will propose probably cuz she got tired of waiting for the guy to ask lol

No, especially when nobody asks, but that's they way it is.
a woman may be single out of choice but she is married only because someone asked her.
