I believe in what the republican party used to stand for...self suffiency, fiscal responsibility, less government. But this is what it has become. The sickest and scariest thing I have ever read, or heard of since Dumbya came into power. As a gay man and someone who has known this since I was seven, this is beyond what I can even comprehend as a member of the human race. When hate filled fanatics like this, finally take the time and listen to someone who is gay, they just might learn something. That is, we aren't attracted to members of the opposite sex, and never have been...have struggled with it our whole lives, been picked on as kids, lived our lives trying to be seen as " straight", overachieved at everything from school to work, and then still put up with crap like this. God help this country.
What is going on in this country...seriously???!!
Read and weep.

While I do not believe in name calling and such, I agree that more people should not tolerate this deviance on TV and movies anymore. Hollywood, because of the large number of gays in acting, wants us to think this lifestyle is 'mainstream". It is not. It is against my Christian beliefs...and quite honestly...against my secular beliefs too.
Love the sinner, hate the sin - is what they ( and I ) are trying to say. Do not force us to accept this lifestyle. We won't. You will be happier if you just live your life not so obsessed by the fact you sleep with other men. Gay people tend to focus on sex too much. Just my opinion.

It is something called freedom of speech. All of these people that attended this meeting had the right to do so and the right to say what they said. It may not sit well with others, but they had the right to say it. They did not need to be "political correct" or try to avoid hurting any ones feelings. That's what is going on in this country. Oh, I know you and your ilk, since you have had such a "terrible life", think you should have your way and everyone should accept your way of life and ask no questions or advance their objections to it, but that is where you are wrong. Especially since you are trying to force it onto the majority of society. OH YES, WHEN I WAS 7 YEARS OLD, I ONLY KNEW ABOUT THE STORK WHEN IT CAME TO SEX AND YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOU KNEW YOU WERE A HOMOSEXUAL AT THAT AGE!!!! COME ON?

Most people (Republican or otherwise) don't hate gay people. However, what pushes our buttons is when people don't accept the consequences of their choices. If you choose to be gay, that's fine, but you have to accept that there are consequences, like not being able to get married. Just like if you choose to be a drug user, that's going to result in you being shunned from society, unable to get or keep a good job, and generally destroy your life. There are consequences to your choices. If you don't like the consequences, make a different choice.

To the people that are screaming at me right now about homosexuality being a choice: yes, it is. All behavior is a choice. There is no gene that drives you to a bar to make you an alcoholic. There is no gene that buys twinkies instead of broccoli to make you fat. There is no gene that makes you have sex with someone of the same sex. These are all complex actions that result from you making a decision. At ANY time, you can make a different decision and stop your actions. It is a choice, stop making lame excuses.

Disrespect and hatred toward minority groups, proposed constitutional amendment to take rights AWAY from people, allowing the President to redefine "torture" and "war crimes"... we're on a toboggan ride down the slippery slope.
