Wash the dresser inside and out with Murphy's Oil Soap, but don't get the wood extremely wet. Then set the dresser in the sun to thoroughly dry and air out. Put small saucers of baking soda in the drawers for a while to absorb any musty smell.

Oak, because of its very nature, smells musty pretty quickly. I would use Cedar Chips and Sachets to get rid of the mustiness.
It may also not be musty, it may be mold. I would check the underside of the drawers for mold. That is normally where mold forms in an old oak dresser.

If you've checked, and you have no visible signs of mold and mildew then this solution really works. Get a bag of kitty litter and place a dish in each "offending" drawer. Close the drawer & the kitty litter should soak up the smells. You may need to do this for a couple of days (change the kitty litter) but once the smell is gone, you can line with scented liners and that should take care of the problems. BTW, I saw scented liners at Target Greatland this weekend. They were in the perfume aisle.

scented drawer liners, but use anti-bacterial air freshener like lysol or febreeze inside of it again. Also, leave cedar sacks in there. I used to buy them in maine- they are little satchels filled with (and smelling like) cedar. They last months and leave it smelling like fresh cedar. It also keeps rodents/insects away from your clothes if you plan to store them in it. Sorry I can't give you more info, but check google.com or something to locate the cedar chests they are called I think
