I really don't have any good answers . But- I wanted to let you know that your mother is wrong. Boys now a days need to know how to take care of themselves. I am trying to help my boys learn that right now. I wouldn't worry about her accepting you. When she sees how well you've done later by following your own dreams she will hopefully see and be proud. I guess women are USUALLY seen as being more responsible, so she was just using that to her advantage but you are still young and it is hurting you. If she lets the boys stay out all night then she should cut you some slack. Please yourself though as much as you can or you'll regret it for life.

OMG this question was made for me to answer! I had the same problem with my mom...she tried to run my life until i was in my 30s...i was pregnant with my 3rd child when i finally took all i could take and stood up to my mother....i told her point blank that i didnt give a **** (yes i said **** to my mom) what she thought about me or my life and told her to get lost to make a long story short. My life has never been better since that wonderous day. It kept her out of my business and i gained a whole new respect for myself....i still have to see my mom from time to time....and she has never had the BALLS to judge me again!

In reality, she probably does not want you to end up like she has. Soon you will be on your own and you can make decisions for yourself. Be patient and take care of yourself. Perhaps she is worried you will get pregnant young. Abide by the rules as unfair as they are until you can live on your own. Your brothers are not setting a good example as you say. You are better than that and I'm proud of you.

If moms is single she may be doing all that stuff to you because she don't want you to turn out like her or she could be jealous of you for trying to have a life beyond centering it around men. Wish you the best & you will learn to stand up for yourself. Speaking from exp.

ur silly , your mom wanted you in to protect you , she also had guide lines for you cause she cared about your desision and she also cares about the roll you have in life. she wants you to have the best husband thats why she would pick your frends , mothers are wise , but it is wrong for you to have to take care of ur brothers if she didnt want them she shouldnt have had them . to start speeking up for yourself just start practticing the word no just say it , no say it 10 a day to someones request or to your own ear the rest will follow

My mom was the same with me and my sister. All my brothers can do what they wanted but when it comes to me and my sis, she's strict and very protective. The difference between us is that I can really talk to her.
I just showed her that she could trust me to do the right things in my life.

Stop running and stand up! If this is not getting anywhere leave when able. Things will start to change. People will only start noticing when we say what we mean and mean what we say! Stop giving excuses for yourself. Regards and Best of Luck.

How old are you? If you're an adult, you can change your life by yourself. If you're a minor, I suppose it's your mom's way of protecting the "baby girl". Talk to her or get another adult to help you talk to her. Godloveya.
