There are special products for cleaning out the scale inside the iron, But yours sounds as though its actually rusting.

Any unusual chemicals or liquids that you put into the iron to clean it could result in harmful vapors or an explosion. Fill the iron up and steam it out a few times on an old towel you don't mind throwing away. If that doesn't work, get a new iron and make sure that you empty the unused water from it after you use it.

Trying to clean that is more trouble than it's worth. You can pick up a new iron at the dollar store for about $12. Never store your iron with water left it it and you'll avoid the rust in the future.

I would pour the water out and fill with white vinegar. Turn it on and let it steam. Pour it out and repeat treatment. Fill with clean water and see if it is clear. If not ..go buy another iron. Use this one for ironing things that don't need steam.

it really is only 8 P.M. at the moment, so that you'll flow to a Walmart, purpose, Walgreens, CVS, or different drugstores and purchase Remington Heated Rag Rollers. they are pink and they arrive in a black case. I used them very last nighttime on my hair and it regarded AMAZINGLY curly. you position them in at nighttime with dry or damp hair and take them out once you awaken. I have thick hair and it seems somewhat sturdy. lots of the time, i do not even choose hairspray because the curls are tight and stay in somewhat nicely. Hurry up and get the shop, now! i imagine they fee about $10-$20, i will't somewhat shop in ideas the price, sorry. sturdy success!

Yikes! That had to have really sucked! I'm thinking "new iron," but I guess you could try flushing it out several times with filtered water.
In the future, I would reccomend using only filtered water...like run through a Brita or something.
Anyway, try flushing it out first, in the off chance that it's just crappy tap water you have in it.

You can get an iron for less than $10, save yourself the hassle of trying to fix something old and get a new one.
