Is this a specific "genre" or group of art? I love it, and want to get more of it, but I don't know what it's called. Can you help me out?

This type of work falls under the category of graphic design and not so much of fine art. Basically this design is a modern reinterpretation of popular 1960's and 1970's graphic design/illustration. As for a name, well it doesnt really have one.

That first piece looks like a Ryan McGuiness..and yes, it is gorgeous. The best thing I'd say to do is look at the art of the Beautiful Losers movement...it's a very West Coast aesthetic, and its very pervasive right now. In fact, you cold probably hit up some of the art shows in your area and someone will be doing something very similar.

These are some of your choices:
Contemporary Art: soft tones & geometric shapes

Retro Mod Art: styles eminiscent of the Mid centruy modern era of the 1950's and 1960's.

Modern Art: Clean lines & Minimalist shapes

Abstract Art: Unique abstract painting bathed in color & texture.

Today, these basic styles of art are used in all types of ways. (also there is the tradional styles of painting and art)
See if you can match them up with your photos.
