It actually depends on the sensitivity setting on the detectors. Most airline screening will not be set off my metal pieces within the body. Off course this depends on the size and location as well. A metal skull plate will almost always do it, a titanium screw maybe not.

It can but does not always.
I have a one inch screw in my knee and it has never set off a metal detector despite dozens of trips through body scanners at airports.

yes. if you fly you need to carry a note from the doctor saying that you have metal pins in your body. otherwise you might not get on the plane.

I have titanium rods in my back from spine surgery & those don't even set off at the air port.
But I also have staples in my stomach & those were a problem one time & I set some off.

Sure can ...sometimes a person with these implants will need to carry an official medical document confirming that they have such 'parts'.

Depends what they're made of. They mainly use titanium so that wouldn't get picked up
