I think all babies do this when they discover their hands! All mine did. There is not much you can do to stop it, maybe you wouldn't want to as it is all part of their development. Don't worry, your baby will not choke!

try wrapping him in a blanket the way the Indians did with his hands in the blanket tight but not to tight it helps to comfort them in sleep and my to kids 11&3 stared sleeping all night and no more chocking

Its about time for him to get curious about his hands,feet,mouth,tongue, lips even blankets. The mouth is the first place anything will go.

My daughter did it as well and it used to really bother me. I tried to stop her every time but she would just stick them right back in. I agree that it's an exploratory phase, she just stopped one day. Try not to worry about it (I know, easier said than done).

a baby always thinks he has to have something in his mouth like a baby bottle or a binkie so get hem a binkie

My daughter also use to do that. However, she had a viral throat infections caused by teething.

he will stop it soon,,he is learning what he can and can't do with his body parts now,just wait til he can't keep them out of his diaper,it will drive you nuts also.
