I would pay off all of my debts, buy a house, a car, put money into RESPs for my children, and buy tickets for a vacation. That would take care of the whole million!

First, I would pay off all of my bills. Then I would spend about $10,000 on a vacation retreat to Ashville, NC. There is this spa there that I have been wanting to go to but it's way too expensive for me right now! I could go ahead and purchase that for a later date, just to keep in with the guidelines of having to spend it in one day.
After that I would immediately go to a financial planner in my area and let them help me plan out the rest of my life. I have a daughter that will need to go to college one day, so I'll have to plan for that. I am sure stocks, bonds, and various other investments would be purchased with the remainder.
I already like my car, so I'd just pay it off. My husband likes his car, so we'd just pay it off too. My house could use a new roof. A new kitchen and bathroom would be very helpful as well.
Oh sweet dreams!

First, I would take care of all my debts and gain good credit again, then I would of course take care of my family and make sure they were well off for quite some time. Then I would invest about 300,000 and spend the rest on my family a new home and new vehicles. After all said and done, take a nice longggggggg vacation to never never land. LOL ........We can only dream someday this come true.
Great question!!!

I would IMMEDIATELY write a check to my student loan place... so there goes about $70,000. Then, I would by a new Honda Element with all the features I want... so that would be about $30,000... I've got $900,000 left... Oh, I would pay off my credit card.... and my mom's house... so that takes me to about $250,000. I would buy myself a house... so that's about $550,000 total where I live ($300,000 for my house)... then I would give each of my younger sisters $100,000 for college... I have 3 of them so that's $850,000. I would buy new clothes for work... so that's about $855,000 so then I would put $100,000 into stocks and bonds and all that junk... and then I would give the other $45,000 to an organization that I worked for in Mississippi for abandoned, abused and neglected children. All in a day's work I could spend $1 million... kinda freaky!

Pay off debts; buy a house in Florida and escape the rat race; donate to good cause. If I had any money left over I'd traipse through Europe for 3 months..

I'd buy a new house, a new car, Pay off all my kids student loans, give them each enough money for a down payment on a new house. I'd buy foot water pumps for for people in third world countries, one line electric so they could have electric. Give to habitate for humanity to build some houses. Give to heifer project so they can feed themselves.
I may have to forget the new house for me and get a cheaper car. That's every penny.

First I would pay off my credit debt (and my moms). Now the rational part of me should go to the bank and invest and open up CD's and blah blah blah, but I'll do that the second day.

pay off my debts, invest some for my children's college fund, give some to family, and donate the rest to charity...I truly believe money can't buy happiness. While I would be happy for the chance to provide for myself and my family, the extra money would be better used by someone who needs it more.
