Sam Kydd (born February 15, 1915, in Belfast, Ireland - March 26, 1982) was an Irish-born actor.
He was educated at the Dunstable Grammar School in Dunstable, Bedfordshire, England.
Early in the Second World War, he went to France with the British Expeditionary Force but was quickly captured, spending the rest of the war in a German prison camp.
He is best remembered as a character actor in films such as The Cruel Sea, Sink the Bismarck, Too Late the Hero, The Yangste Incident, Reach for the Sky and Eye of the Needle.
He made innumerable television appearances in programmes such as Orlando, Crane, Crossroads, Coronation Street, The Eric Sykes Show, and Follyfoot.
His son, Jonathan Kydd, has followed him into the acting profession.
Sam appeared in 232 films and is the most filmed British actor. Many of his parts were characters other than the main one and he also appeared on TV in hundreds of plays and TV series.

this is kinda related buit not quite but american tv host, regis philbin, has the guiness world record for most televised person ever with over 15,662 hours. I think that was last september so it's probably alot more now.
