"Vinegar stroke" is a colloquial term for the final thrust in a sexual act which propels the lucky participant headlong into orgasm. The "stroke" in question may be a penetrative thrust, the caress of a masturbating hand, or (presumably) any of a variety of pleasurable stroking actions..
The origins of this term are difficult to determine. Some suggestions made at www.londonslang.com are that vinegar being shaken from a bottle resembles a money shot, or that the term perhaps likens the facial contortions of orgasm to those induced by drinking vinegar; however, I wouldn't trust this etymology much further than I could jiz.

Much, much older.
The final act of a sales transaction was to exchange the money in the form of coins. To avoid the transmission of germs the buyer put their coins into vinegar and the seller took the coins out of the vinegar. Hence 'The vinegar stroke'. Modern usage is a vulgarisation of the term.

I learned about this the first time from the show "The League" on FX, HILARIOUS! It's the same episode where you see Jeff Goldbloom's vinegar strokes; Google Image Search "vinegar strokes" and his face pops up immediately LOL!!

vinegar strokes (sounds like a case of no follow thru from the stroking)-----the pre-orgasmal point of no return for men during the sexual act, where failing will result in blue balls
vinegar strokes often referred to as blue balls.

Okay! It s been around since the 80s in the UK. That s when I first heard it used.
What is England famous for? Fish & chips! Every high street in the UK has a (chippy) fish & chip shop.
On the counter in every fish & chip shop is a shaker of salt & shaker of vinegar. If you went into a fish & chip shop & asked for a portion of chips, the person serving you always asks "do you want salt & vinegar?" After you experience this & witness the vinegar being shaken on your chips you will immediately understand the origins of the phrase.
As this cultural reference doesn t translate in the US, it has been modified on The League as *** face . Meaning you make a face that looks like you re smelling vinegar when you orgasm... which doesn t even make sense. Nevertheless, it is a well known phrase used in the UK & has been for decades (actually not as much as it used to be these past 10 yrs, was very popular in the 90s).
