Some 2 year colleges offer hands on courses over 2 semesters. Some boot camp programs offer 3-5 day classes. It will depend on your level of expertise with Cisco equipment and how well/quickly you learn. After going through class for 1.5 semesters, I studied 5-6 hours over a week to prepare for my exam. (and I passed).

That really depends on how much experience you have with Cisco routers. I know a guy that studied less than 3 hours and passed the test. I've looked at it and figured it would take me about a week a few hours a day. I have no IOS experience, but a lot of routing so I get the concepts and just have to releate to Cisco.
I would guess that most could do it in a week if they really worked at it.

IF you understand concepts like TCPIP and other protocols such as IPX\SPX.Services such as DHCP, DNS, RIP and networks you could do it quickly depending on the time you can dedicate. I did the course with a builder, I was discusted that they took his money.....
