not really, they are just different terms for the same type of person.
the only difference I could think of is a "butt kisser" is more likely to give compliments all the time,, -oh that's a outstanding shirt,, you look great today,, your lecture was amazing-
where as a "brown noser" is more likely to do things, like bring everyone coffee,, or stay late at work, be the first one to a meeting, always laugh at all the jokes,,
