How more young people in Africa can be attracted to listen to news and current affairs?

wophat & sbeet are both right. Make it local. And get people who can debate their points of view intelligently. Another thought... If you discuss a possible topic with your colleagues at your station and everyone chimes in with their thoughts and opinions in a lively discussion, chances are you have found a good topic to put on the air.

Assuming you are with some radio outfit there in Africa here's a word of advice. If you have more than one person on at a time to debate a point, try your best to get a mix of men and women. Radio doesn't give us the luxury of being able to easily identify who is speaking. The different genders would help your listeners more easily differentiate who is speaking.

A radio that doesn't preach hatered is a great radio. Israeli & mainstream Western radios are not great.
