we want better living conditions.....ideas anyone?

There is never a guarantee your living conditions will improve. It will depend on his job skills and what family and friends you will have in the area.

Well its hard to see it will be better because no one but you knows your current living conditions. Obviously like US and Britain and elsewhere in the world, some parts of Canada have poor living conditions, while others don't.
While I am Canadian and think this is a great place to live, make sure you do your research before doing anything drastic.

no guarantee of course, but a VERY good idea.
of course if you ever return to the US, your son might feel a bit out of place there... but then again... once away cleanly, why would you want to return :)
