I executed an exe file I downloaded from the internet and it immediately went to work. It deleted itself and embedded something somewhere in my system. Afterwards, my firewall had to block multiple attempts of the ishost.exe file from contacting the internet. I know I should have known better than to execute this disguised file, but its too late and I need help.

The explorer is constantly using 99 % of my CPU and making my 2.33 ghz computer lag. I know its some kinda virus/worm/malware or something, does anybody have any ideas as to which one it is?

It is called Troj/Dloadr-XJ.

Yes, your computer has been infected. The reason of explorer.exe's high cpu usage is related with that trojan.

You can simply browse this page for removal instructions.

Sounds more like a spyware than virus, but yes you are infected with something.

Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition ( http://www.lavasoftusa.com ) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Both are free.

Check for viruses. Download and run AVG virus scanner from http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg71free_405a782.exe for free

Also, both the antivirus and the antispyware programs running best in Safe Mode. So you may want to install then reboot into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key during bootup until you get the Safe Mode option screen. Run both programs, and then reboot to get back to Normal Mode.

hi, there are some virus with your IE browser,

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
