Firstly, if you hate them then why put yourself in a situation where you have to interact with them?

Generally speaking, I think if you feel that strongly against someone, there is no point in creating a big drama by having it out with them and telling them why you can't stand them - it only ever brings more problems - but also you should never have to pretend to anyone that you are not thinking or feeling something.

If you really don't like them that much and it's stressing you out having to be around them and pretend, then just make a conscious effort to not be in their company. What would you actually lose by blocking them out?

Other little question you need to ask yourself is why you hate them so much!? Have they done something in particular, is it just a major personality clash or is it something that could be worked on?

Take care

For one thing, you should not hate anyone at all. It is understandable if you dislike the person, but hating someone is totally extreme. If you dislike this person and you do not want anything to do with him/her. Then you should just be honest and let this person know that it would be best if the two of you kept your distance. You should not pretend to like & enjoy someones company if you really don't. You wouldn't like it if someone was doing you this way. Really the best thing for you to do is to just be yourself, don't hang around this person. If the two of you happen to be at the same party/gathering just ignore the person and keep your distance. But if this person comes up to you, and wants to be buddy-buddy with you, then you should be kind & blunt and just let this person know that you are not interested in friendship. You should never be rude, unfriendly, or make someone believe that you like them when you truly don't. You would not like someone doing that to you, so why would you do that to some one else?

I would pretend you like them. "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" as they say. However if you dislike them to the point you want to minimize your time around them, it's probably best to just ignore them. If you tell them you hate them if will come back to bite you when you start receiving plenty of negative attention from them. If you pretend to like them, at least the only attention you receive should be positive.

It is never necessary to say hurtful words. You don't have to pretend to like them but you can be polite and considerate whenever you have to have contact with them.

Either way, you will feel bad if you tell them something hurtful and you will feel bad if you keep pretending to like them. Just let it go, live and let live.

My thought for me is I either like someone or I don't, There is no middle. I call the middle the just tolerate you, And feel there is no point in that. So you can either tell them or or slowly break away

What you should do is keep out of their way.
The Buddha said: do not hate anyone because you never know when you will need them.

Be real nice to them and pretend they are you friend. Then, as soon as they walk away make fun of them.
