Can you list five business advantages OR competitive edge that their [oracle / SAP] customers achieved after the implementation of their business solution. It will be good if you can get me a critical comparison also.

Paul is right in saying that an extensive study is necessary to determine which is better, but it's not just a matter of open vs closed.

SAP is usually more suitable for larger organisations and have a lot of applications you can add on (if you happen to have a big IT budget).

I work in SAP, so am a useful counterpoint to Paul. Some of the advantages of SAP lie in the reasons that many users hate it. It is not flexible, you must enter correct information in the correct way.

What this usually means is that the resulting master data and reporting is more accurate than in some other systems.

Though I'm sure Paul and I could argue about these issues all day.

The real answer is that you should talk to representatives from SAP and Oracle to find out solid information.

Oracle is a RDBMS, but has a ERP Software too.

The Oracle ERP is called by "Oracle Applications" and last version is 11i

Both are very good.

There is not the best..exist the best for your company..you will need a large study to identify who is better for you company.

Oracle is Open, easyest to customize.. use many open technologies, as JAVA and HTML

SAP is more closed.. dificultiest to customize..use a own thecnology..

I work with Oracle applications for 7 years and oracle database for 17 years.. cause it i know oracle..

I Know SAP because i create some interfaces between then..
