there's 2 ways of looking at this, 1 is that they are rich and they are now going for power. the secomnd is that they already do have power and are now using that to make sure that things go their own way. basically if a huge star is democrat and they say you know what, i need this to happen and for that to happen we need democrats in power, they tell the rest of the world to vote democrat and if they are big enough, lo and behold, democrats are voted in.

also, they could genuinely be trying to raise awareness of social issues. never economic coz they could always give away thier own money if they really wanted to.

I think they find a cause they are passionate about & use their own fame to bring it to the public's attention..Plus it can be a double edged sword as well..the cause gets more attention as the celebrity does,some have used this propoganda to further their own careers..others have made a good difference in the world..

i think both movies and politics attract much of people's attention and also give an individual the stardom he dreamt in his life. so stars after retiring from films more often, join poltics.

Because the have a say because they are famous, even though most of them have airhead ideas.
I say, they should put their money where their mouth is.
