Canada doesn't have states, it has provinces, and the names are no more stupid than the names of many American states.

WFT is going on with Massachusettes?

You would be what the Canadians refer to as an ignorant American. That would be someone who makes stupid comments about Canada while displaying a total lack of any knowledge. They would be provinces. Canadians are happy to think you have never been to their country. I had to tell you this because in general they are more polite than we are and would not tell you that you are the stupid one here.

I am an American and I think the provinces of Canada have cool names. I have visited Canada a lot when I lived in NY. I spent 3 weeks in St. Joechum, above Quebec. Very beautiful county. I agree some of their name are alittle funny just because I try to pronounce them and I can't do it right. I think they have great fomage. Then again I love cheese.

There is really no difference at all between the names of Canada's provinces and the United States' state names.

Eighty percent are American Indian names. Twenty percent are names derived from our common homelands in the UK or France. The only difference is in the US, we also have Spanish (California and Texas,) and one named after George Washington.

They are not states they are provinces and they have a different culture than you so names will be different. They probably think names of our states are stupid too.
