Of course I was sad. The guy was amazing...and one of the things that were brought up on his passing was that celebrities are popular and become really famous.
But there's a difference between being famous and popular and being loved.
And a lot of people loved Steve. He was not only a celebrity, but an approachable guy, somebody you would invite over.
I'm still not over it. I watch his videos and think wish he wasn't dead.

Yeah...I was terribly shocked by the news...When i saw the news in Yahoo mainpage, i couldnt believe it..then i went on searching and they said that Steve had passed away...Still i dont believe..however, later in the day, the TV and newspapers are news about his death...Then i started realising that this was true...I felt very sad coz i used to watch crocodile hunter since few years back..I really like the way he does his job and love his courage...but sadly, life is short...Im sad for him and his family coz Steve's children are still so young...i hope his family will not be too sad...
I hope Steve can R.I.P and everyone in the world is very proud of the famous and respectable "Crocodile Hunter"..=)

Yes I was very sad. Steve was a good caring man and will always be remembered especially for his courage. I can't think of anyone else that has courage like Steve. His family wants to continue his work and through them the world can continue to learn about the wildlife in real life vs just reading something in a magazine or a book. I enjoyed watching him.

I wasn't sad of his death, though when I first heard of it via e-mail (not too long after he died), I felt a death (no emotional changes), until I saw it on TV guide (damn TV Guide, using video clips that make him seem alive [Steve Irwin: I want to be remembered for passion!] This threw me off). Damn, Russell Crowe must've been TORTURED by Steve Irwin's death. I think that stingray "killed him" (remember: from references, CATS STILL ATTACK IN SELF DEFENSE!), because it got provoked. The part that killed him was the stinger in the heart; it got stuck onto the stinger, and when he pulled it out, the heart came with it.

I remember watching the news and it said after the break and it said somthing about steve irwin and a stingray finally got him, but i thought he just got hurt. when i found out he died I was so sad. He was so dedicated to working with animals, he seemed like a great man...he made people care about saving the wild life. Suure people will critizize his hands on approach. That, however made you want to watch him and care about these animals you normally would not care about. He probally would say to people right now about his death ''Don't kill any sting rays just because one killed me''. He probally would not of wanted to go like that tho, before his birthday, miles away from his family in a freak accident Tho but let the final word be that he will be missed and never forgotton. RIP and to you idiots who smack talkin him behind your computers are idiots. It is so sad to see great people with great promise die so young for doing what they beleave in.

well he was a husband and father most of all, so he will be missed far more by them but everyone who is anyone would naturally be sad. He was loved by all his co-workers and friends as well. He was trying to carry out a large goal with the animals and the zoo so his life had great cause while he was here to help us understand and love the rejects of the animal kingdom. He will indeed be greatly missed by all.

It was kinda sad because he has become an icon. I personally found out on Yahoo! at like 6:30 in the morning before work. I don't know if I was sad enough to be over his death or not. I didn't know him personally so I couldn't be too distraught.

I hate when anyone dies but steve irwin was a catastrophic accident waiting to happen. The reason people watch his show was becase he tempted fate on each episode.
If you play long enough the house always wins.

I was very shocked when I first heard about it then it turned to sadness. The world has lost a great man who just wanted to help animals and save the planet. There should be more like him.
