Eating more fruit and veg is definatly good for losing weight. Experiment with your food. Like chopping up a mango, adding some blackberries and raspberries and blitz some blueberries and pour over the top. You could add a passion fruit as well. Eat this for breakfast or lunch. I find it filling. You could have an omelette for lunch, jacket potato with salad. In the evening try and have vegetables. I'm not keen on tinned or frozen veg so I lightly stir fry beansprouts, baby sweetcorn, peppers, carrots, onion and garlic and eat it with some chicken or cook some noodles with it. Otherwise try a nice salad with grated carrot, bit of cheese, peppers and chicken or fish or quorn.
If I feel peckish I have a tablespoon of mixed nuts in the afternoon. In the evening if I have been good all day I treat myself to a handful of chocolate raisins and two rich tea biscuits.
If I have been good all week I also have a chicken salad wrap from sainsburys and I might buy a small chocolate sweet, just to keep my hopes up for the next week!!
It is ok to treat yourself because if you keep denying something that you want, you will only want it more and then when you have it you may go overboard and pig out!
Also drink more water because sometimes when you think you are hungry you are actully dehydrated and need water.
Sometimes when I feel just a little peckish and I no I'm about to have dinner soon, I chew some minty gum.
I know what you are going through as I am also on a journey of weight lose aswell, about 5 stone, and this is working for me!

Hello!

Trigger foods are often used for emotional eating. They can trigger you to eat too much, lose control and not lose weight. These foods are often highly flavorful, but caloric and with little nutritional value. That’s why it’s important to identify your trigger foods and find healthy substitutes. These simple changes will empower you over the long term.

Food to avoid:
Chips, Peanuts, Crackers, Pretzels, Cheese Pizza, Mayonnaise, Margarine, Butter, Regular (full-fat) salad dressings, Red meat, Fatty fish, Colas and Juices, Pastries and Ice cream, Beans, Potatoes, Pasta

Instead, Try...
Soy nuts and high-protein snacks
Tomato vegetable soup
Mustard, ketchup, “no-added sugar” jam, tabasco
Balsamic, rice or wine vinegar dressing
Skinless white chicken, turkey, halibut, tuna
Water,
Herbal Aloe Vera Drink
Fresh fruit
Steamed vegetables

You should drink 6-8 glasses of water daily (2.5 liters). This helps to boost weight loss, removal of toxic substances from your body and upkeep of water-salt balance. Insufficient intake of water may slow down loosing weight and sometimes may result in fatigue, dizziness and constipation.

Making sure you get adequate protein intake every day is a simple and safe way to support losing or maintaining your ideal weight. Protein helps you feel fuller during a meal–and keeps you satisfied well after you’ve eaten. Because protein is filling, you won’t be as tempted to snack between meals or consume “junk food” that’s high in sugar, fat and calories, and low in nutritional value.

Remember eat well and don't go on a diet. Dieting will only reduce your weight temproarily.

Good Luck with your weight loss.

My trick (and it works as I´m really skinny!) is to eat a lot of breakfast and lunch, but for supper... hardly anything, just some fruit or a yogurt. Even if it means you have to go to bed feeling hungry! It´s OK to eat a lot of breakfast because you soon use the energy up during the day, but the supper... just transforms to fat! Also do what the others suggest of course, eat plenty fruit and veg and no fried food or fatty food. To feel full starch and fiber work well. For example baked potatoes (potatoes are great for dieting!), cereal...Walk at least 1hour and a half a day. Good luck! You can do it!

Best way, to loose it and to keep it off, is slow and steady.
Only buy low fat foods, stock up on fruit and veg and drink plenty of water.
Be sure to eat 3 healthy meals a day, with a low fat morning snack and a low fat afternoon snack.
Think of your metabolism as a fire, if you keep putting little logs on to it, it burns for longer, but if you let it die down and then chuck a great big log on it, it takes for ever to get it going again.
Food and are bodies are just like this. In order to burn food you have to eat it regularly. The worst thing to do is not eat, your body stores what you do it because it knows it wont get anything else for a while.
Good luck

Get a pedometer and start by aiming for 6000 steps a day. Gradually increase that to 10,000, then 12,000 then 16,000, which should produce some weight loss unless you are eating silly food. There's a website http://walk.ideacog.net/ where you can enter your steps daily and it works out your average for you, it's also very friendly and supportive.

I've lost 8lbs since March, not much I know, but I have not been dieting at all. It's coming off slow and steady, which is what I want.

Don't get one of those cheap, pendulum pedometers you clip to your waistband - waste of money. Get an electronic one you can slip in your pocket or bag - far more accurate.

Good Luck

Drink plenty of water
Eat protein after every exercise session.
If you increase protein intake it will automatically cuts your bodies demand for calories.
Cut carbohydrates not entirely but to a level that allows you to lose weight. Measure the amount of grams of carbohydrates you consume in a day. Eat cauliflower and broccoli as a staple. All green veg is good. Cut fat out. Eat chicken turkey fish and egg white for protein. Eat big for breakfast and big after exercise. Eat small and often otherwise. There should be a level of carbohydrates in a day at which you will loose weight find it and maintain it.

Hi, You need to have a varied diet, stay off the carbs in the evenings, like potatoes, pasta and rice etc. And ridng to work will really help, but make sure you have breakfast, as that will help you to lose weight, even though you will feel hungrier in by lunch time. Dont stop having treat days, just cut them down and target yourself, like if I have 3 good days of eating healthy stuff, and I lose 8 pounds, I can have something unhealthy to eat, but try and do this in the morning or lunch time - If need any further information you can email me, I sell weightloss products aswell, my mums lost alot of weight using them, but safely

Good luck

Keep doing the exercise - that is the most important part.

Avoid ready-meals, and obviously junk food. Try and eat what you prepare yourself so you know exactly what is in it - mainly fruit and vegetables and lean meat.

Eat brown bread instead of white, don't eat snacks between meals, only drink water or tea without sugar.
