For instance, the French statistically have better healthcare than we do at lower cost.
Big business can't afford the healthcare they're offering their employees. Why don't they view national healthcare as their salvation?

It's all about money. $$$$$
National health care may not work in the US but SOMETHING needs to be done ASAP!!!
As long as the insurance and pharmaceutical companies are greasin' the palm of our politicians nothing will change.

Too many economic interests.
And not only nationwide. We could prevent most of world's epidemics if it wasn't for the big pharmaceutical industries, who are more interested in satisfying their shareholders than to save lives.
The R. of South Africa for instance has set an example allowing genericals to relieve aids in their country and that wasn't an easy battle.

depends on the business. Insurance companies and major hospitals are against it. And we should be to. National health care will only bring the level of care down. Canada has free health care, but why is it then that most wealthy Canadians will come to America to have elective surgery???
