I have heard rumor that Walmart will be closing the fabric departments due to the possible acquisition of JoAnn Fabrics.
But it is only a rumor.

Haven't heard any rumors about the faric department, but they are ending the layaway department after this year.

Wal-mart is trying to change its style and add customers.
The sad truth is that, although Wal-mart sell things cheaply, they have been instrumental in destrying the economy, sell in the tings produced buy the lowest paid labor. They also will do anything to keep their employess from unionizing.
