It can be done. You need to speak with a lactation consultant and get a hold of a feeding tube set up. The formula is put into a bag, and the feeding tube is placed on the nipple. There is also a drug which you can take to help you produce milk. This is often successful at starting lactation with adopted children and re-lactating after short periods. Two months is a long time, you may or may not have success.

Here is some information to read, while it is about starting lactation with an adopted child the information is still applicable to your situation:

Best of luck.

I've heard it done before, it's possible if there's milk still being produced via the breastpump. What you have to do is recreate the supply by mimicking demand - have a good old go on the breast pump every couple of hours, alternating with your baby trying.

Also, taking fenugreek and agnus castus works (I've only tried the agnus castus, that really worked a treat on my milk supply!) There are some other things you can take too which I've forgotten right now, but www.breastfeeding.com will be able to help and is a valuable resource for any breastfeeder.

And drink lots of water! Good luck!

You can start up breastfeeding an time you want, even if you'd never had a baby. When baby is next due for feed (not screaming with hunger) latch him on for a while this will stimulate your body into producing prolactin/oxytocin. Or try him after a bath when he is nice and relaxed but wide awake. It will take some time for you to start producing milk but stick with it, it will happen, it'll be easier to latch him on once him can smell your milk and know he's going to get something. Best of luck!!

My son is now 15 months old and i stopped breast feeding at 3 months and i still have a more than healthy supply of milk, it would be a good idea to speak to your health visitor so see if she has any good suggestions for getting him back on the good old boob

Talk to your lactation nurse at the hospital you gave birth at..I have heard of some vitamins that your doctor can prescribe that will stimulate your milk. Drink lots of water but I always heard the best way is for baby to suck on your breast! Maybe its your method of feeding the baby as to why baby wont breastfeed but talk to your lactation nurse!

If he doesn't like to suck on the breast, why are you trying to breastfeed again??? You can get your milk back after about a month, don't know about two. If you are doing it to benefit your baby, and this doesn't sound like the case, as he doesn't want to, then you are just being selfish and shouldn't be trying to do it at all.

I would be very surprised if you were able to do that again. Your milk may have dried up by now. But you never know, see a lactation nurse. How great of you to want to go back to nursing your baby! Kudos!!! very Best of luck to you!

I don't think you can go back. Your milk has probably all dried up by now. You should consult your doctor to see what your options are.
