I guess you have to realize that what the Democrat Party is telling you about it "not working" may be nothing more than a political ploy.
What isn't working?
The Stock Market may very well reach a historic level today.
The tax revenues are higher this year than any other year in history.
We have been attack free from terrorists since 9/11.
Did you ever take into consideration that the Democratic Party *needs* you to believe the worst so that they can propel themselves back into power? Isn't that sad? The Democrat party has to hope the worst for you so that you will want a change.
Think about that for a minute.
