No your not funding terrorism. But the company which really manufactoring the real version of the DVD doesn't get the money for you purchasing the DVD and you also run the chance of the pirated DVD to have flaws like lighting voicing etc.

Those companies are really harking back to the days when pirate vidoes were funded by the mafia. Now anyone on the street can do it. I also love the way that they compare copying a DVD to actively robbing from shops... that's like saying if you sell cutlery your aiding and abetting murderers!

Less so now probably, but pirate videos were a main source of income for republican and loyalist terrorists in Northern Ireland in the 1980s and some of the 1990s.

In response to this: During the troubles in Northern Ireland the IRA were funded through petty crime, Drugs etc. it was also rumoured that a large high street fast food chain gave money to fund the IRA cause.

No your not funding it at all in an way. How many DVD's and CD's do you think you would have to sell to buy a gun/bomb/rocket. Its just a guilt thing they are trying to use so you wont buy them.

whoever told you that is crazy its said all the time its people that work in the movie company that are p---ed off because of the money they lose more so the goverment say that as they are also losing money through revenue and if they tell us something like that 95% of the people will believe it sad i know. it has been alledged that terrorists have been using credit cards scams andother criminal activity to raise funds.
to suggest that all DVD priacy is funding terrorims is dumb, to say none os probably dumb. The answer is it all depends on who is profiting from the DVD selling & distribution.

I prefer pirate copies because you can get straight to the film without having to watch those crappy anti-piracy adverts and all the other crap which you can't fast forward past.
