Please note that I am 24 years old, I am on the pill and have been for many years. I decided to ask the question because I was curious, not because I wanted stupid answers from know it alls telling me to get clued up on sex and to go to the doctors instead of asking questions on here. I though that was what Yahoo questions was for! Some people really need to take their heads from out of their arses!!

No its not a old wives tale. If you prop up your bottom with a pillow it helps to.

This is an old wives tale, but that doesnt mean you cant get pregnant.

You can only fall pregnant for approx 3-4 days each month. Theoretically you should ovulate (your womb releases an egg) on or around your 14th day which is based half way through your 28 day cycle. BUT the tricky thing is, not all woman have regular cycle and also some woman ovulate at different times because their cycles are out of balance. So my advice is, if you dont want to be pregnant, you are taking a huge risk by not using some form of contraception as you are unlikely to be 100% sure when you are or arent fertile.

If you had unprotected sex within 72 hours ago, I recommend a morning after pill and perhaps see your doctor about taking the pill or using condoms - better safe than sorry as its just not worth stressing about (Ive had a few close calls, but learnt my lesson now and always have protected sex)

Well, the thing about it is that the only way for you to get pregnat is EXACTLY if you hold his sperm inside your body.

If you want to learn how to get pregnant, and how not to, you should read this article...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A467912

I strongly recommend you read it. It's very important that you don't get pregnant unless you are mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially ready to take on the responsibility.

And I would recommend you use contraception. If your boyfriend won't use a condom and you decide to give in to his decision (which I would ask you to reconsider for the possibility of sexually transmitted diseases), then you should get yourself on the Morning-After pill or regular contraceptive pills.

Good luck.

And take care, please.

Some clinics advise females to elevate their legs after sex to help the sperm move along the tubes. I guess it's logical that if you did the opposite - get out of bed - it does minimise the chance.

You know to enjoy sex, just continue,
when you`ll like children, just stop with pills, and continue!!!

Yes daugther, more possibility,
on right day in the month, more then 20%,

If you don't want to get pregnant stop asking pointless questions and get to the doctors or in the meantime get him to wear a condom and please take some responsibility and go and get contraception!

Sometimes, lay with your legs in the air, and try positions that hit your cervix....put a pillow under your backside while in the missionary position. I have 3 under me, so you are slanted, but it is a great way.

If you are trying to conceive with a man with a low count it can help. If there is nothing physically wrong with either of you....no difference.
